Traveling to the mountainous region of Fond Verrette was a real experience!. This region possesses some of the most spectacular mountains in Haiti. The panorama of majestic, but often barren mountains deforested for wood to make charcoal, is almost beyond description. To me, it looked like another world! Roads were unpaved and precipitous and dangerous curves abounded! One had to hold their breath and pray that there would be no oncoming trucks or buses - especially around the curves.

I met with these brethren and outlined an economic development plan with
them. They insisted that I meet with them after I met with the women to
discuss a plan of economic development. After the service, we all posed for group photos in front of the church and the unfinished building that was to be the home of Pastor Sylvio and family. Pastor Joseph Sylvio is a young man with a heart for the Lord Jesus. He needs help with his school and church which were destroyed in the last hurricane. He needs a generator to provide electrical power for lights in Robio, one of the more remote districts of which he oversees. A generator would enable them to provide adult education in the evening. The Gospel is being taught, and men and The schools are woefully inadequate, especially the primary schools.
Without a primary education, the
children would never get to secondary school. They will remain in the
chains of illiteracy! There are no colorful teaching aides for the little
ones. Paper is scarce and pencils are precious. Can you help us to
help them? Would you like to support this community in Fond Verrette? If so, you may select to help this ministry by clicking the donation button below. Good News Pastor Sylvio and Bro. Emmanuel attending the CAWST Clean Water Filter Course in Haiti and were certified as BioSand Filter technicians in August 2007! They are awaiting funding to start manufacturing the filters.
