Help make a Haitian child's life more bearable! The Teddy Bear Project was started in May, 2003 to help raise much-needed funds for the MOM Haitian Initiative. New and used soft, cuddly, and beautiful Teddy Bears and stuffed animals of many descriptions are refurbished and dressed for adoption by Teddy Bear lovers. Some of them are wearing designer outfits, too. Baby clothes are re-designed by my own hands to fit them. A minimum donation of $25 is requested for the smallest bears and $30 and up for the larger bears. We even have two Chosun bears the size of a 4-year old! Of course, you may give more than the requested minimum donation. Every donation is tax-deductible as allowed by IRS regulations. Dressed in the cutest little outfits, these adorable "kids" are just waiting to go home with you! Their little outfits are washable and they are too. Just gently hand wash them (surface) in Woolite, dry them, hug them and dress them when needed. I use a special comb and brush to groom them and to make them fluffy! Some of the bears are collectibles. One may find Gund, Applause, and Dakin bears from designer collections and other notables in the group. Rarely are there any two alike! Some may have a "heartbeat, others may "breathe, while others sing and talk! They are absolutely delightful to "adopt". They make perfect gifts of love because each bear represents the life of a Haitian child that can be restored from the trash heap of ignorance and despair due to the lack of education. The proceeds from these little "stuffed personalities are earmarked for the Haiti initiative. The logos, "MOM Cares" and "MOM" are printed on the little shirts and dresses. Some are imprinted with the logo of Howard U. School of Divinity and Howard U imprinted on them. I am a Howard graduate and Howard Divinity Graduate and I want my clergy mates the world over to be involved in the restoration of the lives of poor and isolated kids in the rural areas of Haiti. Everyone is welcomed to join me in wearing the Howard U. Logo! Click on the Teddy Bear Showcase and see some of the wonderful little "stuffed shirts". Some have been adopted and have left for different parts of the U.S. and Europe! But, I wanted their photos to remain in the gallery as keepsakes. It was rather difficult to let them go, to be honest with you. The donations are $25.00 and up and are listed on the photos. You will receive a Teddy Bear based on your donation and the corresponding grouping. For example, if you donate $25, you will receive a bear from the $25 category. Or, you may attempt to select your own bear, email to confirm its availability then pay on line with PayPal or mail in your donation. If the bear is not available, you will be notified to select another. The bears are one of a kind, so we cannot promise you your selection. They all are adorable, so you will be happy with any one of them....we promise you!
